MacBook Pro: IMAP command failed with 'Quota exceeded' error

Hi

Just bought a new Mac book pro. This message has popped up for numerous files, send, draft, archive etc

The IMAP command “APPEND” (to Sent) failed with server error: Quota exceeded (mailbox for user is full) (0.011 + 0.000 + 0.010 secs)..

Any ideas...

To actually look at the emails on the server, and potentially clean some up to make space and make progress, you need "WebMail" -- a high sounding name for a really simple feature.

Connect directly to your Email provider account with a web browser, log in and read, empty the trash, and clean up some emails to make some more room.

Once you have some room, the rejection messages should stop and you can use Mac Mail to drag some Emails you want to save from Inbox (on the Server) to separate folders you create "On my Mac". They will be copied to those local folders and deleted from the Server, making still more space.
