Are company messages and 2FA end-to-end encrypted?

Are texts I receive from companies that, for example, state a delivery is being made, or you have an upcoming appointment for your car repair, or even two-factor-authentication, are those messages encrypted? End-to-end encrypted?

They are SMS messages.

Start composing a reply to one. You will see a green send button. That means they are SMS.

They are not encrypted. That is why companies like Microsoft are discontinuing support for SMS messages for multi-factor authentication to secure services. SMS is not secure.

You consider them not as replies, although they come to you on the left side of the pane, so they are received messages. Hence me referring to them as being replies, my mistake.

If they are not received through Apple's iMessage system, then they are not encrypted. That is mostly the case if they are sent by external programs such as Joebob Motors Inc, who sends them from their computer system to an SMS provider which delivers them to your provider/mobile operator.

Your mobile operator can look into them, if they have a valid reason. Operators are not monitoring your messages if they have no reason to.

I have no idea what RCS messages are. The messages I am asking about are not replies. They would be considered more "broadcasts" from companies. I am trying to find out if they are encrypted. If Joebob Motors, Inc sends me a reminder text "You have an upcoming car repair at 10:00 am tomorrow", I am trying to find out if that's an encrypted text message.

Does my carrier, Apple and whatever "middleman" (such as Syniverse) all have access to read that text?
