Notes app text appears in iPad landscape mode with lots of blank space on right side of screen

I've started a note in the Notes app on my Mac. I went to open it on my iPad in landscape mode and all of the text is towards the left side of the screen with a lot of blank space on the right side of the screen. Is there a way to optimize text for landscape orientation on iPad? It looks fine in portrait. The title, for instance, goes to the next line even though there is plenty of room to stay on the same line in landscape.

It's kinda like how the reader view on safari makes the text look nice and in place in the center of the screen. I'm not wanting to actually change the format to center-aligned. I want it to stay left-aligned but look less awkward on my iPad.
