Can Apple 85W MagSafe Power Adapter (for 15- and 17-inch MacBook Pro) with SKU: MC556B/C work with my old MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)[non-retina]?
Trying to transfer all my storage data from my old MacBook to my now Mac Mini and the old charger battery gave out won't work anymore so I'm wondering if this will work? but I don't know where it was intended for as far as I remember my MBP mid 2012 is only 60 watts
For the 13-inch MacBook Pro (Mid 2012) (non-Retina), Apple originally shipped it with a 60 W MagSafe Power Adapter. According to Apple’s official specs, that model uses the MagSafe (original) connector, not MagSafe 2, and requires around 60 W to charge properly.
Using a 85W adapter is NOT the issue, but this adapter comes with two different MagSafe connectors. Only the "L-shaped" one will most likely work. It appears from the image you provided, that this one has that type of connector, and should work. Regardless, be sure to verify the seller's return policy should it not.
