Download whole state instead of specific areas in Maps apps in iPhones?

Is there no way to easily and quickly the download whole state for offline map instead of an area in Apple's and Google's Maps iOS apps in iPhone's iOS v26.3?

Unable to use downloaded offline Apple Maps on iPhone 12 How to USE Apple Maps offline on iPhone 12 with iOS 26. I have been to this page: Download offline maps on iPhone - Apple Support This skips instructions on how to activate or USE the Downloaded map. I've got the map saved, my iPhone is offline (no cellular or WiFi operating), I have chosen the Saved Offline map. An image of the boxed area appears - now what? I have tried using the "Use Only Offline" both ways switched OFF and ON. I've tapped all over the screen (except for Delete Map). Nothing happening.

Is "Only Use Offline Maps" setting effective for Data Saving? I am confused about "only use offline maps" settings. I'm turning it on because I want fast preloaded maps, and I don't want my phone to use any data in area where my map is cached. Is apple maps smart enough to not use data if the map is cached? iOS 17, just use my saved maps when I'm in that area without impacting my data rates. If I venture outside of that area, please use the data to populate a new map. Why is "only use offline maps" even an option? [Edited by Moderator]

Apple Maps and Google Maps on iOS 26.3 do not offer a one‑tap option to download an entire state. As you have already learned, both apps only allow downloading a custom area that you manually size.
