FCP: Prevent stabilization reprocessing after cuts

I'm editing digitizations of old 8mm films in FCP. My workflow has been to denoise with the Neat plugin, and then stabilize, which is all the processing I need. My next step has been to use the blade tool to cut the footage into segments manageable for upload, deleting unused segments. After deletions, FCP attempts to stabilize the remaining footage all over again (and for some reason this time it can't stabilize properly and ends up with mostly black screen, etc.). This is also unnecessarily time-consuming, waiting for the processing I haven't even requested.

Is there a way to stop this reprocessing upon editing, after I'm already satisfied with my original processing?

I would do it the way terryb suggests, but if you want to keep working the way you are doing now, then once you have applied the denoise and stabilization (and the effects have rendered), export that as a stand-alone file - which will bake in the effects.

Once exported, import that file you just exported and create a new project from it and trim and cut as you wish.

No, a snapshot would not help in this instance. You would have a separate copy of the same project and cutting that would cause the same issue you had in the original.

Btw what export settings would ensure I'd be importing exactly what I had prior to exporting?

To ensure the utmost quality choose export file and under settings choose ProRes. It produces a huge file, though. It’s very likely that you could do it using H264 or HEVC and not be able to notice much difference (and produce a much much smaller file).
