After updating to iOS 26.4.1 on my iPhone 16 Pro Max, Spotlight search is no longer working properly. The search function is essentially broken—I can’t find apps, text messages, or even photos using keywords or descriptions.
I contacted Apple Support, but they advised me to wait for the next update. Has anyone else experienced this issue or found a workaround?

BIG UPDATE:
iOS 26.5 update has FIXED search for my phone!
Before installing, I made sure to close all applications and do a restart of the phone. THEN, I went to Settings and updated. I left the phone plugged in and unused for about 45 mins just to be sure.
Insalled it; no joy. Spotlight still broken here
@Communityjoiner Really appreciate you sharing that you also didn’t find the 26.4.2 update fixed the search issue. Sorry to hear it, though. I’m in the same boat.
Confirm on the dispproportional use of battery. At 11 in the morning I had 38% left after not using my phone. (From 80% loaded throughout the night).
I have the exact same issue. I did a full reset and that did not work either.
I have the same issue. Search stopped working after the update. Looks like Apple has just released 26.5. Fingers crossed it has a bug fix for this.
Confirmed as mentioned in this thread; 45 mins wait not necessary here. Worked straight away after the update
