Hello 👋

You cannot downgrade to iOS 18 because it's not signed anymore but you can downgrade to iOS 26 if you want by following the steps in this article : How to uninstall iOS or iPadOS beta software - Apple Support (CA)

After you restart your iPhone, if you used iCloud backups, make sure to setup your iPhone without using Quick Start (otherwise your backups from iOS 26 might not appear)

I hope this helps, that said, have a nice day 

Apple stopped signing iOS 18 years ago. For security reasons, you can only restore your iPhone to a version that Apple is currently signing, which right now is iOS 26. This has always been Apple's policy to protect user data, which is why it’s always best to think twice before jumping into a major upgrade.

Here are your best options right now:

  • Downgrade to iOS 26: iOS 26 is incredibly stable and, honestly, runs much better than iOS 18 ever did. If you want to head back, here is a guide on how to uninstall the iOS beta: How to uninstall iOS or iPadOS beta software
  • Stick with the iOS 27 Beta: Hang in there until the official iOS 27 public release. You'll get to enjoy all of Apple's latest and most advanced features first.
  • Troubleshoot your current bugs: iOS has gotten much better at handling stability, and bugs are far less common now. Since updates roll out frequently, you can try fixing the issues causing you headache while waiting for the final release.

Other users have asked similar questions in the Apple Community before, so you might find this thread helpful: Can I revert from iOS beta to stable.

Moving forward, I'd highly recommend not installing beta software on your primary device. It's always best to weigh the pros and cons before upgrading!

You cannot under any condition downgrade to iOS 18. Read this for everything you need to know about removing the iOS Beta, but be advised if you did not make an archive backup before you downloaded the iOS Beta, you're out of luck --> To Beta or Not to Beta - That is the Ques… - Apple Community

You "freaking" made a mistake if you installed beta software on your primary device. The entire point of testing beta software is to uncover what doesn't work as expected and report it using the "Feedback Assistant" link you were provided when you joined the developer beta. If you're not a developer, why you did this makes no sense whatsoever.

If the most recent 14 versions of iOS (iOS 6 through 26) are any guide, the production version of iOS 27 will come out some time in September.

You would be well-advised to wait until then – as beta versions are likely to be full of bugs, may cause loss of data or loss of access to apps you rely upon, and should only be installed on spare phones.

To Beta or Not to Beta - That is the Question – Apple Community

To install iOS 27, you will need an iPhone that is compatible with it. A list of compatible iPhones is at the end of the OS - iOS 27 - Apple preview page. Apple Intelligence will only be available on some iPhones that run iOS 27 – see the list of compatible models, and the footnote about an enhanced Dictation feature, on the Apple Intelligence and Siri - Apple page.

Can you not downgrade at all or do you only have the option to downgrade to iOS 26?

If the first option, it's likely that you created a backup on iOS 27 that over-rid your previous backup, and beta backups cannot be restored on previous public software.

If the second option, then you'll only be able to downgrade to iOS 26, not 18. The only devices that can downgrade to iOS 18 are the iPhone XR, XS, or XS Max, since they only support iOS 18 as their furthest iOS and don't support 26.
