iPhone 16 Pro cellular issues after iOS 26.6 update

Dear Apple Coomunity,

I am seeking assistance with a cellular connectivity issue on my iPhone 16 Pro, purchased in the USA and less than two years old.

On August 8, immediately after updating to iOS 26.6, the phone stopped connecting reliably to the cellular network. There were no such issues before the update. Apple’s diagnostics indicated a possible hardware issue, and an Apple service center in Dublin advised that the phone may require a logic board replacement.

Given that the issue started immediately after the iOS update, I would like Apple to investigate whether this could be software-related before proceeding with such a major hardware replacement. I have also come across reports of similar cellular issues following iOS updates that were subsequently resolved through software updates.

Could you please confirm:

Whether Apple is aware of similar issues with the iPhone 16 Pro after iOS 26.6.

Whether a software or carrier-settings update could resolve the issue.

If a logic board replacement is necessary, whether this would be covered by Apple given the circumstances.

I would appreciate this being escalated to the appropriate technical/customer relations team for further investigation. I can provide the diagnostic report, service-center assessment, and proof of purchase if required.

I look forward to your assistance and a fair resolution.

Have you tried and see if you in need of installing a carrier settings update?

Manually update carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Otherwise you might need to reset your network settings

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap Transfer or Reset [device].
  4. Tap Reset.
  5. Tap Reset Network Settings. This resets all Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings.

"I’m still having these issues as of today (10/22/2026). I can’t make any calls and my 5G keeps dropping out. I’m already updated to the latest firmware and I’ve done every trick in the book to fix the issue."

Troubleshooting Cellular:

So, which tricks have you tried? One can only guess, if you don't provide the, them.

Somethings that Come to Mind:

A. Contact your Carrier:

Have you contacted your Carrier? They might have to provide with with a new SIM or eSIM card (which to use depends on your location).

B. Remove Profiles:

Sometimes, you are emailed something, and then you go about installing it, and it is a Profile --doing so, you can be restricted from things, such as Cellular usage.

  1. Go to: Settings
  2. Tap: General
  3. Tap: VPN & Device Managament
  4. Remove ALL profiles

C. Clear System Data (Formerly Called "Other"):

Use my User Tip: How to Clear "Other" in your iPhone's Storage - Use Backup - User Tip. Caches would be being used for remembrance of application use. You'd backup your iPhone, and then restore your iPhone from the backup you've just created. All System Data will delete.
