Fix yet another Apple problem

Why does Apple expect us to spend our time fixing their problems. I/we pay top dollar for the equipment and Apple is mega wealthy. I am a customer since 1998. I am seriously considering changing. They are taking advantage of us?

If you have a specific problem with which contributors here may be able to offer help, please provide some detail - as without more information we are powerless to offer any appropriate help or guidance. This user tip, authored by one of our senior contributors may help you to effectively outline your problem:

Writing an effective Apple Support Community Question - Apple Community

Otherwise, you might seek assistance directly from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Support link at top-right or bottom-left of this page.

Alternatively you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed on your iPad, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-support/id1130498044

You might also visit the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP) - where the technicians will be able to assist with troubleshooting:

Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

Apple also invites submission of constructive comments, bug reports and feature requests via its Product Feedback Portal:

Product Feedback - Apple

If submitting a Bug Report, please ensure that you include details of your device model and installed OS-version within the body-text of your report along with details of the problem.  Do not rely upon the pick-list alone - as may not include the most recent OS-versions.

Every Bug Report counts.  Unless sufficient reports are submitted (with adequate detail), Apple may not assign resources to investigate and correct the issue.

What problems? I have zero issues with any of our iPhones. Zip. Nada. None. My crystal ball is broken, so I have no clue what issue(s) you seem to think have been caused, but unless you provide details, you won't get any help or an answer here on this user to user only forum, which no one form Apple actively participates.

Otherwise, your post is nothing more than a rant, which is a violation of the terms of use for this forum.

If you are not happy, absolutely change to another platform. Nobody here cares what device you purchase and would strongly recommend getting one that you like.

Try checking out the Android Support forum, ironically you see the same posts there about users who are tired of their current device problems and switching to Apple. It really is a moot point and apparently makes them feel better.

Hi adobesage,

Thank you kindly for your question, and welcome to this (user-to-user) community.

Re: "Why does Apple expect us to spend our time fixing their problems".

Does Apple expect that ? Privacy and security of our data are constantly under threat, those issues are often given the timely attention / priority by tech companies.

Seems it is the nature of technology to innovate new features. New features inevitably have (often invisible) bugs that aren't identified. Seems many bugs, oversights etc., (we're human) are not uncovered and worked out until the massive array of hardware models and software versions in use today have the features actually in use. Technology in all forms, not just from Apple, gives us joy, and pain.

Many difficulties that come up currently stem from unnecessary third-party apps, like virus checkers, ad-blockers, cleaners and the like, (even VPN if not supplied by an employer) being installed. Using uninstallers from their developers can often solve issues.

Interference from third-party apps can cripple our regular Apple apps, or even our devices, as many have found. Any necessary third-party apps also need to be kept up-to-date so they remain compatible.

If you use third-party apps:

You can check out some of the many symptoms of interference:

Eg: If your device has network connectivity issues, check for VPN and other third-party security software - Apple Support

If you can find anything better for your needs via another tech company ... feel free.

Myself, am grateful Apple's software and updates are free if you have the hardware.

have Apple remote fix this. On their time. Not mine.

I have had this once before too, and I suppose "dozens" of other people have at one time or another and as the article says it is most likely due to a local condition, such as a connectivity interruption on your own network or transfer of data where it also says the solution is simple. May you did not read that part.

The solution for me was simple and all I did was do a Force Restart. Problem solved! Feel free to do that yourself where it takes about 20 seconds or sit on the phone with Apple for 20/30 minutes and let them walk you through the steps for you to do the Force Restart on your device.

If that is the dealbreaker for you, then you got a long road ahead of you no matter what platform you choose and are going to find it difficult being happy with any purchase you make. That "glass half empty" approach to life takes a toll on you after a while.

Don't threaten. DO IT! Threatening to switch makes you look silly and vain, unable to deal with frustration. You'll soon find out if the grass is greener on the other side.

You are missing the point. Top$=less problems. I’ve been with Apple for 28 years the trend is not good. Yes I can take my iPad to an Apple Store … 3 hours out of my life. if your own time or if the equipment outage itself is worth enough, acquire spare equipment.

No one here can tell Apple what to do on anyone’s time. And Apple certainly can’t fix any problem remotely because of the security features of the iPhone.

And notice that the article you linked refers to dozens of users with the problem. Dozens out of 1.5 BILLION iPhones. And the article says how to fix it. If you actually read the article and followed its guidance it would have taken you less time than it took to post your message!

LOL. Good luck with that. I agree with Lawrence Finch. Did you actually read the article or are you just posting for the fun of it. You can fix this. The article and some of us have given you good advice. But if you think Apple is going to remote anything to your iPhone, dream on.

Maybe you should go buy something else, if you're unwilling to try to help youself.
