RW2 photos not importing after upgrade to Sequoia 15.8. I used to be able to import from the SD card to Photos app on Macbook Pro, 2018, but now all the thumbnails are blank and hitting import does not do anything.
Possibly related at same time, preview pane and quicklook are slow or not showing images.
To all in this thread: The bug is fixed in macOS 15.8.1 (24H212). It is a beta version, so you will need to sign up for beta updates. Or wait for the full release of 15.8.1.
Just wanted to say I too have this problem but for ORF files (and Jpg's too), and on Apple Silicon. So it's most certainly a 15.8 MacOS problem/bug. Very annoying!

Yes I have a Panasonic Lumix, DMC-FZ70. I will look into what came with the camera, and conversion to DNG, but have a bigger issue at present as trying to import my last batch into Photos App seems to have corrupted the app and am at present trying to be patient doing a Time Machine restore. Thanks Richard. I just replied to léonie separately. Perhaps that was wrong and it should be one string. Anyways as I said in that post, I am in the middle now of restoring my photo library so the RAW issue has taken a back seat until I can access my photographs. Cheers Julie

Yes my camera is listed as shown above. And yet the images were not showing in the thumbnails of Photos app although the number of them with blank squares was showing. And when I downloaded them as files, the finder also could not give a preview pane and quicklook wasn't working. I'm not sure what to do next? Thanks Julie

I can't see my camera listed, yet it has been working for years, exporting Raw images to the Photos app. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am afraid this is on the wrong track. The problems apply to all RAW formats, including DNG. Looks much more like a bug introduced with 15.8.
Thanks for all the responses. Unfortunately my Photos library seems to have been corrupted. I cannot open Photos. It sits at Restoring 0%.
