Apple Wallet not accepting cards on new iPhone 18 Pro Max
I recently purchased the iPhone 18 Pro Max 1TB. I tried to add my cards to Apple wallet and was refused. Nothing wrong with the cards they worked fine on my iPhone 17 Pro Max. Something has broken in the Apple Wallet. Can anyone help?
Hi Jeff, there is no error message just this message. On my Tablet Apple Wallet works correctly. So, it would appear that it is device specific rather than software, but just can’t be sure. Apple wallet support team are going to call me at 11AM PDT. So, will see what they have to say. I am in Southern California and know about the hold place on two of my cards for the reasons you suggest. The odd issue is a few cards were accepted normally yet others get rejected. For over a week and various potential fixes all have drawn a blank. Well let you know what AppleCare have to say about this issue. Thank you for your valid suggestions I appreciate you taking the time to help.
Hi Brian, currently waiting to hear back from AppleCare and one of the card issuers who is investigating this issue with a dedicated wallet team. I tried the same Credit card on my iPad and that wallet accepted the card as normal. Will let you know if I find out what is happening and if there is a solution from them. Thank you for your great suggestions, really appreciate it.
Same experience. I was able to add one of my cards to my watch but it will not add to my iphone 18 pro max. Specifically, Barclay Cards and Capital 1 cards are my issue at this point. Worked fine for years on my iphone 15. Now it is this same error over and over. Ive called multiple times in the past 10 days and no one seems to know what to do. Frustrating.
Thank you Brian, I’ll need all the help with this crazy issue. I made sure all my cards were not locked by the card company for too many attempts. Still the same. Will let you know how it goes. Thank you.
Yes all valid help pathways mentioned and checked. Yes I was grateful for Jeff’s insights into card issuer problems. Talked to the Card Issuers and was assured they are not blocked or locked due to too many attempts at registration on Apple Wallet. Thank you.
