How to revert the timer interface on iPhone 15 with iOS 27.0.1?

I have an iPhone 15 with iOS 27.0.1 installed yesterday. Is there anyway to roll back the timer interface? Specifically the slider at the top. I want to be able to access my various timers but I have to start this new 15 minute timer to get to where my saved timers are.

Well I can scroll it. Put your thumb on the area next to the word Sound and drag up

The problem is if you start the timer from the Control Center the interface is different then starting it from the clock app on the screen. This is what it looks like:

There is no option to scroll, only to choose a time setting by scrolling left and right, then tap Start. Once you start the timer it reverts to the full Clock app and you can then stop the timer and choose another one.

I suspect the intention here is to make it easy to start a single timer without having to tap or scroll to find another, or to enter a time.

A workaround (other than opening the timer from the Home screen) is to tap the Alarm Clock icon in the Control Center, then select Timer.

I think we are talking past each other here

what Chris and Bill are experiencing is a new timer UI from Control Center (swiping down from Home Screen).

for reasons passing understanding, ios27 uses a different (horizontal) slider for the Timer in CC than the one available via the Clock app. the new Timer UI (pic attached) is NOT as functional as the traditional Clock Timer, which is oddly still available via Clock if you want to bypass CC and login to your phone.

Apple: can you help users find a way to add the Clock Timer UI to Control Center? Thanks!

I couldn’t find any noticeable difference in the Timer interface between iOS 26 (iPhone 12 Pro) and iOS 27 (iPhone 13 Pro). I have included a screenshot of the Timer interface on my device below for your reference.

You mentioned: “I have an iPhone 15 with iOS 27.0.1 installed yesterday. Is there any way to roll back the Timer interface? Specifically, the slider at the top.”

Based on my observation, I am unable to identify the change in the Timer interface you are referring to, particularly the slider at the top. Therefore, either I have misunderstood what you mean by the change, or your claim that the Timer interface has changed in iOS 27.0.1 may be incorrect.

Could you please post a screenshot of your Timer interface and point out the specific slider you are referring to? Comparing it with the screenshot I have provided should help us establish whether there is an actual difference between the two iOS versions or whether the issue lies elsewhere.

I’ll add that I really like this, because I can start a 10 minute or 20 minute timer by scrolling left or right. And if I want a precise time (such as 40 seconds) I just say “Siri, start a 40 second timer”. I’ve never actually opened the timer app to set a timer, I just ask Siri to do it for me.

Me as well. I only ask Siri to start a time for me. Siri can set it for any duration I want, like a 12 second or set a 7 minute and 15 seconds timer. I don't have to touch my phone at all to do this.

Hi,

i am also having a huge problem with the new design of the timer widget. To me it is now useless, because i do spontaneous short timers with my apple watch. But on my iPhone and iPad i usually want to set the sleep timer for my podcasts etc. with the new widget i cannot customize the timer at all, i cannot see, if a timer is active, and i cannot access the timer menu at all. If i press short, the rudimentary UI overlay appears, if i long press, i get the option to set a stop clock, set an alarm or… stop a f***in timer? Why do i not have the option to set a timer in the timer menu?

this new widget seems to be implemented by an AI and neither reviewed nor tested by a human dev, therefore it is in my opinion kind of embarrasing for the usually so UX-sensitive Apple development…

I don’t like the new initial timer interface either, in iOS 27.0.1. We must choose a number of minutes on a sliding scale from 1 to 120, then if you pause you can have the scale change to 15 second increments. Of course your finger is hiding the actual display so it makes the interface difficult. Please revert back to the previous initial timer interface.

How to revert the timer interface on iPhone 15 with iOS 27.0.1?
