iTunes 10 breaks Firefly Media Server / mt-daapd

iTunes 10 does not work with Firefly Media Server / mt-daapd on my local network. iTunes 9.2.1 worked fine. iTunes 10 will fetch the playlists, but will not fetch any media files.

It's not the server software, iTunes 9.2.1 still works fine with it on another Mac and Songbird with the daapd client plugin also plays music from the server fine when iTunes 10 on the same Mac will not.

Is there any way to fix this, if not, how do I downgrade back to iTunes 9.2.1 safely? Right now it is refusing to install due to a newer version installed and I don't want to proceed until I know how to do so safely. Thanks.

I've seen and I can do better: if it works I will open a case in Ubuntu's lauchpad, along with the patch, to have it fixed for the rest of the world.

Tomorrow I will try in a virtual machine to see if it works.

Ok. I couldn't stand the curiosity and I did the test right away.

It works.

I'm gonna to submit the patch's link to the Ubuntu maintainers. I hope this will help the other Ubuntu users.

Hello, Everyone:

I figured out the way to fixed this. The problem is not with your Firefly Media Server the problem is with iTunes.

Leave your Firefly Media Server alone and edit your iTunes. Please follow instruction on the link I provided below to make iTunes work with Firefly Media Server again. Since, I searched the forum and found no solution for this so I would appreciated anyone who repost this please leave the credit to me. Thanks.

Your solution will probably not be applicable for Mac users. As far as I have experienced: patching Firefly itself (in my case Firefly runs on Ubuntu) would allow you to use new versions of bonjour and iTunes.
