4.1 update 3259 error

Has anyone received error 3259 when trying to update an iphone 4 to iOS 4.1? I have received this every time I have tried to update. My wife has a 3G and it updated without issue the first time from the same computer via the same iTunes account. The error states a network timeout occurred--could this be an apple server capacity issue?

After struggling with this and getting tech support to no avail, I just started following your advice, downloaded the 589.9 MB iPhone3,14.1_8B117Restore.ipsw file, used SHIFT+RESTORE to retrieve it, iTunes now says "Extractinc software" and "iTunes is preparing to restore the software on this iPhone" in the Version field within Summary, now went to "Verifying iPhone restore with Apple", "Preparing iPhone for restore...", the phone went to grey apple then to USB to iTunes graph on display, PC says @New hardware found Apple Mobile Device *Recovery Mode, Apple Recovery *iBoot USB driver...(and then hardware is installed and ready to use@ itunes says Waiting for iPhone, i see the grey apple nonresponsive to touch, itunes says "Preparing iPhone... REstoring iPhone software... ok now I see progress bar on iPhone grey apple screen. seems to be working. iTunes progress bar moved on to "Verifying iPhone software" while grey apple bar on phone is halfway through, then to "Restoring iPhone firmware" ... both progress bars are synchronized now, all filled up ... phone screen went black, itunes requires my attention, nothing there. grey apple back on, progress bar went to about 45%, now screen of USB plug and iTunes, phone activatd OK!!! just took my first HDR pic, thank you so much!

WELL nothing that i have read on the interweb helped me. I still haven't downloaded 4.1 for iphone 4. I have tried disableing the firewall, antivirus and even going right into the system and turning stuff off. Also I tried plugging the iphone in all of my 4 usb ports. I am ****** off big time. Help would be very appreciated. many thanks Jim

If you are using Kaspersky Internet Security 2011, this is the source of your problem. To defeat this error, you don’t need to disable all of KIS; just implement this limited exclusion—
1. Open KIS Help, search “editing application rules.”
2. In the “Editing application rules” result, follow the instructions under “To add an exclusion to the application rules:”
3. In the “Application rules” window, “Exclusions” tab check the “Do not scan network traffic” box.
4. Plug the iPhone into the computer with the USB cable. The 4.1 update should now download and install successfully.
5. When the update is complete, uncheck the “Do not scan network traffic” box to restore the original setting.
