Crackling Noise During Music Playback after iOS 4.1 Update

Hey guys. Play music through my iPhone via USB in my Prius. Music has always been fine, but when i updated to 4.1, then started to play music in my car, i noticed a crackling noise during music playback. I thought maybe the speakers were blown, but there is no such sound when i play music CDs or pandora or anything other than the Mp3s. Is anyone having music playback issues after the 4.1 update???

Macbook Pro 2.2Ghz 4GB RAM 160GB HDD, Mac OS X (10.6.4), iPhone 4 16GB

I just wanted to post that I'm experiencing the same issue since upgrading to iOS 4.1. I have a Pioneer deck in my car, but it doesn't seem to matter what brand is being used- everyone seems to be affected.

Does anyone know if the issue was fixed in a later version of iOS?

4.2 killed the connection altogether for my setup (Alpine) so we're waiting to see what happens with 4.3...

My iPhone 4 has been fine on v4.2.1 until today, now started with the crackling again. As of today it also randomly plays my ipod music through the car speakers when trying to make a handsfree call (also a Pioneer AVH-3200BT).
Any ideas ????

TEll them it doesn't work with your Alpine iDA-X001 after the 4.1 update but previously it did. If we all do this, or enough, Apple should fix it..

was this with the avh p3100? I haven't update to 4.2 because i'm afraid the unit will no longerbe compatible. Right now it just skips about 4 seconds of music at different rates. Some days not so much, other days very frequently. Should I update?

I have iphone 4 32gb with 4.2.1 as well and same issue of popping / crackling noise happening every 10-20 seconds. It's really ******* me off to the point that im thinking of selling my phone. Please someone help?

ok i seem to have accidentally solved this problem. Yesterday i put on protective plastic films that you can buy online on the screen, the back and metal sides of the iphone. since then there seems to be no more interference with my stereo in the car. there is also no more antenna issues.

I never had a chance to play music through anything before 4.1, but I did recently get a bluetooth stereo system in my car and it always crackles when trying to play through bluetooth. I can't figure out if it's the stereo or the iphone. My buddies Droid X plays great through my stereo, so I would assume it's the iOS software??

I would try re-encoding the songs at a lower bit rate to see if that helps. My friend has a bluetooth stereo and his songs that were encoded at too high of a bit rate. This caused the connection to become choppy. Just a suggestion.

Mine are encoded at 128, which is pretty low for MP3. But a previous user is right. If I manually connect the audio of the phone 1st through bluetooth, then the phone part, the audio sounds great!!

I've had this problem with my Volvo and I can't guarantee for sure that it's fixed but I drove in to work without any crackles this morning.

I did the trick of switching the phone off, plugging it into the car then starting the car and letting that start up the phone. Like I say, it's early days to say that it's fixed but had no symptoms on the one trip. Might be worth a try.

I have an Ipod Touch 4 with iOs 4.3.1 and a Alpine Ixa-w407

Tons of crackling when I play connect and play music! Like others I started noticing this when I went to iOs 4.
Apple - please fix!

I can tell you, for me, this has been a F(&*#%!@ Nightmare! I just learned that the IPod touch is to blame for all my car audio related issues! That's too bad, becuase, in an attempt to fix the issue, I replaced ALL of my infinity speakers to JL audio, rewired my amp, sub, replaced ALL of the factory speaker wire, ran new power and ground to my headunit, purchased a new had unit..... ALL to have the same problem!!! Clicking- popping noise in the audio. It's anoying. I upgraded to Alpine's IDA-X305S, which has 24-Bit Burr-Brown D/A converter.

Alpine Tech- Support told me that it's a flaw within the Ipod touch and Iphone firmware. He also said that, from what he knew, apple is unable to fix the issue.... Is it possible to go back to an earlier OS?

so is this still an issue with the new firmware updates? I'm running 4.2.1 and have the issue, It was really bad with a 3rd party cable, then I started using the one that came with my Ipod 4G and it made it a little better (tollerable)
