Tried all the tricks and just got off the phone with Apple, Mine needs to go in for repair.

They had to replace mine.
I had the same problem but couldn't fix it with the home/sleep button trick. The Support told me to restore if which worked then. If iTunes can't detect the device, you hold the home button and then plug the iPad in while still holding the home button, and wait until iTunes tells you that it found it. Then hit restore and it should work again.
I bought my girlfriend a ipad 2 for her B-Day. A couple of days later she gave it back to me and sadly said her ipad 2 did not turn on anymore. After much research and reading, this post provided me with the fix. By pressing the home/sleep buttons for 10 seconds it turn back on. She thought I was her savior! She loves her ipad 2. Thank you!🙂
