My iPad will not power on. I have handled it very carefully. I checked my email on it in the morning, turned it off, then tried to turn it back on about an hour later with no luck. Any ideas?
This just happened to me too.... Wrote a note in evernote, played a couple of screens of angry birds, put it down, came back three hours later and nothing. Fix worked, but why would it do this?
I tried both suggestions, two buttons together, and just the sleep/wake, but it does not power on. The screen stays dark.
My iPad worked fine last time I used it. I have not used it in several months. It has been stored in a safe place. I have plugged it into the wall outlet, and also to my mac, using cables that I know work.
Same thing happened to me, and the fix worked. I had about 30% charge when the iPad would not turn on again after working fine. The reset trick worked fine. I've had an iPod Touch (1G), iPhone (2G), iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and this iPad, and I've never had to do this to any of them.

I'm having the same problem, did you found a solution?
The posts above yours in this thread contain different fixes which have worked for most. Please take the time to read before posting, and consider using the Search function to find answers before tacking on another question.
I had the same problem, and almost had a heart attack as well, the "fix" worked on mine too, WHAT makes it do that, my ipod touch does that too.....can't this be fixed for good??? We pay A LOT of money for this stuff, should not have flaws such as that!!
FF, Mine did the same thing. battery level was at 24%, went dark and had to do this reset for the first time since I bought it (first week it came out). It must be a bug when the level gets low.....
