Airplay on old Apple TV

Hi. I have a now old apple tv. I was wondering will it support the new ios feature airplay or not? Also will it support the renting tv shows? Thanks.

I'm curious how you distinguish deliberate from a bug. If Apple meant to exclude Apple TV1, why would Apple post specifications stating explicitly that iOS devices can stream audio to Apple TV1?

Just to help you avoid any disappointment, you shouldnt expect any response to feedback you submit. Apple's pretty explicit about that.

iOS device streaming to Macs is not enabled right? is appleTV gen 1 not also a OS X device as well?

Then how come OS X streams to ATV1 (which runs OS X)?

Using iTunes, not AirPlay. AirPlay allows iOS devices to stream directly to an ATV2, which is a feature of iOS, not OS X.

No. He is confusing AirPlay with AirTunes. There is no AirPlay feature on TV 1G

The so WEIRD thing is that I can stream from my iPad/iPhone to a really old Airport Extreme, but not to my 1 1/2 year old Apple TV...
