Left Speaker in Iphone 4 not working since 4.1 update

It has always been the case that there is only one speaker, the other grill being one of the microphones. There is an illustration of this in the user guide.

No, it is not "believed that on newer models" there is only one speaker... It's FACT. It has been that way since the very first iPhone. Are you that lazy that you can't even bother to read this thread before embarrassing yourself with an inane post like this?

Microphones take in noise.

Well, there is nothing wrong with not knowing something. We learn things every day. So, why not take the time to teach me about why that can't happen and I'll be thankful to you for that info?

Because having multiple speakers placed an inch and a half apart, on a phone, would be pointless.

It's not that it can't happen but what is it going to do?

There will be no stereo separation.

It's more hardware to design into the phone, with resulting increased costs and increase power consumption as well as another part to go bad.

I have same problem. Left speaker is not working in my phone

And after 7 years, the answer remains the same.
