Netflix Problems

Good luck. Hopefully it works better for you than it did for me. My Apple TV is hardwired and I still have buffering/pausing issues with Netfilx. It has gotten better over the past month or so. Not sure if Netflix changed something on their end, but its not happening every night like it used to. I personally believe it has to do with how the app handles network congestion and slow-downs. Rather than dynamically degrade the picture it pauses and buffers data until the picture quality can get back to "Apple standards". I think Neflix developed the app, but Apple probably gave directions to maintain a certain level of picture quality.
I thoroughly enjoy the Apple TV, its a great little device for everything else it does which makes the Netflix issues that much more frustrating.
And I'll be hardwiring my sony blu ray player. We had a buffer load issue every minute for the last 15 minutes of our last movie. I found pressing pause and waiting a minute helped.
I have been told that companies, like Cox, that use things like Power boost or give you a burst of extra download at the start confuse netflix and their system.
Hope this helps me with the hardwire.
Also having issues with the Apple TV and Netflix. Tried all the suggestions here. Every other device in the house (macbook, iphone, Wii, and Roku) "just works", except the Apple TV. I really wanted to like this device, but had to return it. I hope Apple will fix this soon.
See https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2616899?answerId=15391116022#15391116022 for an update on the cause of this issue.
I had the exact same problem. It just started out of the blue. One day working fine, next day not.
All I did was reset ATV back to the factory settings. It loaded un update when I did this and then Netflix played fine after that.
I reset mine a couple weeks ago and it fixed this problem, but now it's happening again. It just started a day or so ago, and I can't get anything to stream from Netflix. I can stream Netflix fine on my laptop, and I can stream other things on the ATV, but Netflix doesn't seem to want to work anymore. Resetting to factory settings every couple weeks is not a solution. Netflix says it's all in Apple's court since I can play the shows via other devices, so I really don't know what's going on.
It would be nice if someone from Apple would actually fix this issue. It's very frustrating when I can't use my paid service via my preferred device.
Mine is having the same issues and I am currently resetting it. Hopefully apple comes out with some sort of update.
Same here, did everything that i could but can't use Netflix. Apple has until Friday to restore or the TV gets returned... bummer but not wasting money on **** poor products
Having the same Netflix issue will try to reset and hope for the best. Thank you!!!
Reset, restored both wirless and wired, no fix. Can watch on mac and ipad but no atv. went from cable into house right to atv to eliminate everything else, still nothing. can log in, get ot selection, tv shoes get stopped right in there tracks, movies get the spinwheel of death, which leads me to think it is a server/rate issue between the app and the server. Guessing though....
Ah, crud. I'm having this problem too. Ever since the last few updates to ATV2 iOS, I've been having all sorts of Netflix issues. Movies pause a lot. I'm currently watching Lost, and I get pauses at least twice per episode. I occasionally get audio dropouts as well, but a reboot may have solved that one (?).
My Apple TV is wired into my Airport Extreme router rather than being wireless.
I'm starting to wonder if there's a "best" version of the OS to run rather than the current latest version. All I need from my Apple TV is streaming iTunes from my Mac and Netflix. That's it.
After todays update, I can no longer conect to netflix. Any way to get this solved?
same problem here, updated software tonight and now Netflix won't work. so annoying! everything else works fine.
I've ran the ATV2 update a couple of days ago and have been using it to watch Netflix all weekend. Sometimes it takes a loooooooong time to start playing once you hit the play button. A couple of times I've had to back out (using menu button) and hit play again to get it to play. It's been very sluggish.
My wife wanted to watch the TV and so I went in the other room to watch Netflix on my laptop. It won't let me login (Safari) and after trying the reset password option I never get the email it says I'll be getting to do the reset. I think Netflix is having a bad time with so many people being home these past 4 days.
Same issue here... just updated software to 4.4.3 and now it won't connect to Netflix. Should have checked here first since it was working fine before the update.
