Netflix Problems

Anybody else having this problem? I had no trouble signing into my Netflix account (Instant Queue, recently played, etc...) but when I try to play something on the ATV it takes a long time to load then stops after two or three seconds. I tried this over wi-fi and with ethernet. I do not have particularly fast DSL but I watch Netflix on my Mac all the time with no problems. Also, I had no trouble streaming a movie trailer on the ATV. Just a Netflix bug? Any ideas?

I spoke to Netflix support and they helped me fix this issue.

Solution: Switch from your automatic DNS settings to Google's DNS server. General->Network->Configure TCP/IP->Manual and pick 008.008.008.008.

Now, I was stumped a bit since I have an XBox 360 on the same network with no issues. The support guy said that Apple TV connects to their licensing servers a bit differently so this should fix the issue.

so it could be that Netflix have prioritized computer and mobile over ATV. Then it would be up to Netflix to fix this rather than Apple. The plot thickens...

Any television has this issue. Have used two LG and a Samsung. Same issue each time.

HAVE EXACT PROBLEM ON BOTH 4S iPhones. iPads seem to be fine. Netflix suggests it is the 3G needs to be wi-fi BUT that was untrue 2-3 weeks ago. Was working FINE until then. HELP !!

Just installed the update. So far so good. Only stopped once in the last two minutes. Did they fix the bugs, highly doubt it. Is is just a good night, more than likely.

netflix works fine on my other devices but always problems with Appletv. Came here looking for a fix....I guess changing the ip address is the best solution? or has there been new info? thanks

I don't get error message, i get "Netflix currently not available" even though it totally is on my laptop. arg.

My ATV2 was driving me nuts with Netflix errors; "try again later" errors, "recently watched" disappears, sometimes forgets my Netflix logon, random reboots, so I moved my PS3 into the main room and run Netflix on that. Wow! It just plain works, every single time - either FF or RW without issue. Love it!

Also, the Netflix video quality on the PS3 is unquestionably better than the ATV2. Both are wired LAN, Netflix set to highest quality. The difference must be in the ATV2's inability to receive the stream a a high rate, so Netflix scales down the transfer rate. Not so with the PS3. The quality looks as good as broadcast HD.

I will not be going back to the ATV, and frankly - now I have little use for it...
