Netflix Problems

FAIL. It worked great for about three shows and now is right back to buffering every 30-45 seconds.

This happens a lot to me. Tonight I happened to have my MacBook set up while watching tv. After at least 5 Apple TV failed attempts to load the same episode of Breaking Bad, I watched it on my laptop. I like the idea of the ATV, but its not as reliable as their other equipment.

Anyone know when this will be fixed, I am having the same problem with my ATV2. This was one of the main reasons I bought it!

Thank you to sriramk for his solution to resolve my problem with the Apple TV and Netflix. I don't undersatand why the people from Netflix did'nt give me that easy solution

What is "sriramk's" solution? I have not been able to login with Netflix since the latest update to my aTV.

You have to go to the apple TV menu /setting /general /network /configure TCP/IP /manually /008.008.008.008.

Then come back to Netflix and I hope for you that it will work.

Did you reset, or restore to factory settings, because just resetting it will not work.

Apple can't be working on this. A decent network engineer would have found the issue in a couple of weeks. Maybe I should come out of retirement.

ATV 4.4.4 was just released. Maybe that will help!! Cross your fingers. Backyardigans rule!

It works. I just did the update and voila.

Isn't working for me....too many people trying to access Netflix?

Simple solution - I had the same problem. I pulled the power on the ATV and router for about 1 minute and reconnected and everything went back to normal.

I tried the google dns thing but it didn't work - I finally fixed it by Upgrading the Firmware in my Linksys E2000 Router. Once I upgraded the firmware, I no longer have issues with Netflix - before that, Netflix would pause every minute or so. It's only been one evening, so we'll see how it lasts.

Had this problem too. Tried the DNS thingy ...DIDN'T WORK. Got ****** screwed my remote up somehow and then i decided to just plug my atv2 into my puter and restore it. WHICH fixed everything.

So, I'm having the same problem...

Tried changing the DNS on the ATV2 to the 8.8.8.8... Didn't work.

Currently downloading an ATV2 update.... Hope that will do the trick.

Will probably try unplugging next...

Then maybe try setting the DNS to 8.8.4.4.....

In the mean time streaming from my Wii works great.

So while I'm waiting for the update to download I'm wondering how many other threads on the apple discussion site have over 270,000 views like this one? Is someone watching this and paying attention? Come on people! Fix this!
