This is a user forum, you will not get a response from Apple. Netflix is having issues right now and they have stated they are working on it.
No kidding. And Apple tech support reads the forums too.
Apple and Netflix need to have a pow wow.

Where did you get the information that Netflix is having issues and they are working on it?
From the support page
We're aware that some members are experiencing issues logging into the website, and streaming movies or TV shows. We’re working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
Some have received emails from support as well addressing the issue.
I had to do a "Reset Settings" and it fixed it for me.
I've had login issues with Netflix today. I tried changing DNS several times, resetting and restoring, nothing have worked. When i try to log in it either says "Apple TV could not connect to server, please try again later" or it blacks out and return to the menu.
Ok Apple, y'all are really dropping the ball! We need updates and you need to tell Netflix to get off their butt and fix their crummy issues. I am tired of resetting and restarting! Uuuggghhh!
As you stated in your post it's Netflix that needs to fix it. Today all was working flawlessly on my system.
Even though Netflix was running very sluggish on my ATV2, it did continue work after the update. Finally though my Netflix login on their website from Safari is working again. This was definately a Netflix problem in my case.
I get a The Account name or password is incorrect. Plese try again (117), Netflix sais itis an Apple issue, but everything else on the ATV works, tried unplugging ATV, Resetting ATV; nothing works- Any suggestions? Netflix Customer support is inconsistent at best
It's no wonder Netflix is losing money faster than the US Government. They just keep on shooting themselves in the foot.
After getting things fixed with the AppleTV last time, I dropped the DVD option when they did their price hike debacle. Since then, I've been finding their on line offerings woefully inadequate. After the holidays, I believe they will have at least one less customer. Now that there is competition, they should be beefing up their customer service quality instead of thumbing their nose at the people having problems. They just don't get it.
Well. after many tries, ATV just does not work with Netflix for me. Last night we went through the Wii, wireless, and was able to watch, no issues other than the bad picture quality. Not going to pay for that. I cannot say who's fault it is, but we cannot take the ATV back, so, bye bye Netflix......
The full reset worked for me. Setting the DNS to Google's public servers did nothing.
I added Google DNS and my Rogers DNS at my router, then did the "reset all settings" and it seems to have:
- Stopped the streaming issues I had, where it would stream for 30-45 seconds then pause to re-buffer or just stop altogether
- Has drastically inproved the quality of the stream from Netflix. I just found an option on the Netflix dashboard under settings where you can choose your picture quality. I changed it to max but nothing changed on the Apple TV until I did the full reset.
Looks like the Netflix settings are not refreshed by the Apple TV after the initial connection. I will be watching TV havily today to see if the fix sticks.
I have a second Apple TV that I am using as a baseline.

I too had error and login problems recently with Netflix and my new appletv, however, that seems to have been fixed with a recent update. Now, I can view Netflix movies, but I must be able to speak either Portuguese or Spanish. I live in the Caribbean on the island of Trinidad our language is English, I purchased the appletv so that my family and myself can enjoy looking at movies at home apart from purchasing dvd's or brdvd's. This seems ow impossible to do because of the language and the unfortunate thing is that you do not have the option to select the language of the movie.
When will either Apple of Netflix correct these problems that plague the appletv community.
Unhappy customer!
