Youtube not working on 2nd generation Apple TV

I found a few posts on here regarding Youtube issues but none similar to what I'm seeing. I just recently, within the last 24 hours, setup my new, 2nd generation Apple TV. I have successfully linked to my home content as well as the internet. I can see movie trailers, listen to the radio, watch podcasts etc. Yet my youtube feature doesn't work at all. Any request to do anything, such as access "Featured", "Most viewed", "Search" result in "No content was found - There is a problem communicating with YouTube. Try again later". All this without logging in - because I can't log in.

Certainly, there must be a better way to troubleshoot this - assuming it is my problem.

thanks.

I have read all the post in this discussion. But found no solution to the 'watch private youtube videos on AppleTV' issue.

is there any way to watch my private family videos from my youtube account on my apple tv without making them public to the whole planet?

on my appletv, only the non-private videos appear (I added my own videos to my favorites and can watch them in appletv>youtube>favorites). the private videos doe not appear in my private list, even if I did add them to my favorites.

I stopped exporting my movies from iMovie to iTunes and then to AppleTv for several reasons:

- AppleTv does not support 1080p (I have a 1st gen AppleTV)

- I live in Europe and we use PAL (25fps) for are television sets. I make my movies with my iPhone 4S (1080p) but the iPhone only supports NTSC (30fps). The iPhone even uses variable framerates, so when importing nd imovie and exporting to PAL HD, the movies are choppy.
