Apple TV (2nd Gen) screensaver photo shuffle

Received my 2nd gen ATV yesterday, and successfully setup home sharing with iTunes on my mac, along with photo sharing. I really like the photo screensaver capability of the ATV, and set it up to use my entire iPhoto library with "Floating". However, every time the screensaver starts it shows a bunch of pictures from 10 years ago (the oldest stuff in my iPhoto library). I don't mind seeing these pictures, but I'd prefer to get the photos in random order and not "oldest first". I can't seem to find a "photo shuffle" preference, am I missing something?

Sad, but true. Apple just doesn't seem to care, and yet I still argue that Apple has wrecked the single best killer feature of Apple TV. The number of people who went out and bought an ATV after seeing true random screensaver shuffle in action on my TV was astounding. At least 20 people from me alone! Now I have to tell people not to bother buying as the feature is broken and effectively worthless. There are so many people out there who want to effortlessly access the large libraries of images they have built up since digital cameras were introduced and this was easily the simplest way. So easy to fix, but Apple in it's own sometimes bloody-minded way, has simply chosen to ignore some of it's greatest ambassadors and heaviest users. As they say in some parts, "go figure."

Hello from 2016. They have added some more screensavers, they have eliminated iPhoto app, introduced iCloud Photos, but the amount of pictures they are able to show is still limited to about 500 (guesstimating). I am paying Apple for 200 Gb iCloud storage for all my pictures, and yet, they restrict apple tv to show only about 500 photos. I'm not buying another Apple TV before they fix this 😟 and yeah, it's been 6 years... don't think they ever will
