I'm so mad at the 9.1.2 update. But even more mad at myself for updating!! In my naivety I thought that the update would be good for my new iMac i7...

Now I've got worse performance. It apparently does NOT use HT, so only 4 cores are visible - even though I see some activity on the other 4 cores (using iStat menus). A big project I was working on just before I updated now has all 4 cores maxed out, while earlier I had only 1 core pretty high, 6 cores medium usage and the last to only 10% (I'm aware that the 8th normally stays like that in Logic)..

I just bought the iMac i7 so that I'd get 8 cores (4+4). Was soooo happy that it worked in Logic 9.1.1, and now this..... 😟

I'm trying to download the update, but the Apple site is asking for the serial number and won't accept mine for some reason. I registered on the Apple site already, so they have it on record. I'm reading it off the back of the "Installing Your Software" booklet, and it starts with "F-278-LEZ-XXX, etc". Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe you should just keep your voice down and not complain. I used to be a Cubase user and all i can say to you sure go ahead and buy yourself a PC + Cubase you will be amazed how stable it is! NOT!

I suggest you give Apple some credit for trying to fix some issues. Now Apple cannot see what sort of configuration each and everyone of us have. So if you have issues dont just blame Apple for it.

Thats not the point here!! We are not here to bash PCs nor Cubase. My point is you cannot turn around and blame apple if you Mac is not properly set up. Apple cannot know every configuration of every studio/project/Home studios setup.

Of course I am dummy that I even try to put sense into some of you people. Only 30 years in Digital Music Technology give or take. I have worked on every existing DAW software with almost every combination you can imagine.

Point taken!

Alert,

You are right but you can understand how mad at Apple Logic team I was. 4 threads instead of 8, all my personal templates crash when I open some of my 3rd party plug-ins. (on my desktop and notebook) But you can blame me to not read forums before to update Logic. The next time I will dot it.
