Problem logging into FaceTime for Mac

Ok...problem fixed...but don't ask me why.

After doing what I posted just a moment ago, I went back and connected to my ethernet connection (shut off wifi) and FaceTime still worked. I signed out, signed back in, quit the program, restarted it...all works just fine now.

Same problem for me. I have Apple wireless router connected to Vonage router connected to cable modem, if any of that matters. My iMac is only on wireless. Facetime just sits on "Signing in" until I cancel.

I had the same problem, but I found out that is has something to do with the modem. I connected to a free WIFI network and tried to sign in in Facetime. That worked with my MacBook Pro... Don't know yet what the problem (setting) of the modem is. Hope this helps.

Same problem here. I'm stuck in the sign in stage. Even creating a new apple id does not work.

Solved the my problem using my MiFi connection. I can use Facetime now.

Its a connection port/router issue. Maybe my home router is blocking the port used by FaceTime?

I am also using a Vonage Wireless router... interesting.

Hey I took my macbook in my back yard and connected to another WiFi connection, it worked! After, I came back in my house connected to my own WiFi connection and it worked. Even after restarting Facetime.

The trick is you need to connect at another wifi source. You might be able to try to "FORGET YOUR NETWORK" and relearn it. Can someone try this to see if it works?

Yes, that fixes it...but why? Its very strange.

You have to connect to a different network, and after it connects, you can switch back to your own network no problem, even if you log off or quit the program. Very strange.

Try this... worked for me:

Add these to your DNS settings:
8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4

First I tried login with my itunes account (e-mail address using my own private domain)
-> spinning wheel
Then I created a new Account with another e-Mail address (a web.de address)
-> spinning wheel
I tried it with Wireless LAN and standard ethernet connection of my MAC
The Advice with the DNS Entries also didn't help.
The wheel keeps on spinning!
So I must say Facebook for MAC is really BETA. It doesn't work
Has anybody another idea?

i have the same problem. i have tried creating a new ID, but that doesnt work either. i was hoping to communicate through facetime with my family when i travel, but it looks like this does not work. will probably have to stick to skype for now, but that means no visual contact...

I can't log in either, or that is I can on my Mac Pro and MB but not on my MBP. tried everything, postet on the web..... Come on apple work it out.
