Error -9813

Every time I try to check for available downloads, I'm told 'could not complete your request, error -9813.' I've found the meaning of many other error codes, but not this one. Anyone know?

macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Ugh. So ridiculous. I finally received an e-mail reply from iTunes support (took 12+ hours) and they gave me the rote suggestions of emptying my Safari cache, resetting my key chain, etc.

Do they not even talk to each other or read the latest on the 9813 error?

Along with replying to her that those "fixes" do not work, I sent her to this thread, suggested she and her co-workers read it, talk to each other, and get it fixed. I also explained it wasn't on our end, but on Apple's end, and sent this as well:

Apparently the problem is the iTunes Authentication server not recognizing requests from the following:

Mac OS 10.5.x and below
iOS 3.1.3 and below
Old Apple TV (not current black one) OS?

The following seem to work:

iOS 3.2 and above
Mac OS 10.6.x
Windows (not sure which versions)

Just fixed mine. I have been having the same problem for the last week "after I updated my expired credit card". I'm not sure what exactly fixed the problem I just know it is now working. ...... Go to the Keychain access program, Under the keychain access drop down, there is a keychain first aid. First I ran "verify", then I ran "repair" . I also locked the login keychain, but have since unlocked that. I unlocked, then locked the Private..., System and System Root. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem over this weekend ( on 10.5.8 as well ). Nothing suggested worked for me ( and don't want to move to 10.6.x on this system ) but -

just tried again and had success logging in to iTunes and making a purchase. I think the change was on the server end - when I logged in I was directed to a page where I had to reverify my account settings.

So - might be worth giving it another try, it might be resolved -
