Error -9813

Every time I try to check for available downloads, I'm told 'could not complete your request, error -9813.' I've found the meaning of many other error codes, but not this one. Anyone know?

macbook pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

So many people are having this problem. It has to be a problem with the iTunes store, right?

Have we all just developed this problem in the last day or so?

I also can not access Apple TV.

Weirdly, my husband's account can be accessed on my computer. WHAT THE H is Going ON?

Apple TV gives an error: "The Apple ID you entered could not be found or the password is incorrect. Please try again."

What's weird is that on the same two computers and Apple TV, my husband's account works fine! Only my account gets the error. I've done all the troubleshooting that Google offers. Too bad all our season passes are on my account. Thanks again, Apple.

Been just over 24 hrs now.

Although this error is extremely irksome, I'm comforted to know there are quite a few of us in the same boat.

Before I found this thread, I had already tried a couple of the suggestions from Apple (the ones where they recommended clearing Safari's cache and mucking about with the X509Anchors keychain) and I was seriously considering re-installing my OS in the hopes that it would fix the -9813 error.

I haven't been able to log into the iTunes store since early Thursday evening and I am also using Mac OS X 10.5.8 but so far I haven't seen any official postings from Apple regarding this issue.

If the PTB (Powers That Be) at Apple are reading these forums I have just one thing to say -- Please fix this problem now!!

Same problem here. Had it for at least 24hrs. Like everyone else, I did everything the support site suggested apart from reinstall the OS.

Has anyone else tried checking their support package status here: https://p2-buy.itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/iForgot?language-iso =en-us
After inputting my serial number and clicking 'continue', the page just hangs and hangs and hangs while the busy ticker cycles and cycles - left it 10 minutes then gave up and closed the page. Maybe the problem is a deep-rooted one that isn't only affecting itunes... Does it affect other contact with Apple too?

No problem using my itunes account from my ipod touch.

Apple: HELP!

I am experiencing the same issues. Happened yesterday to me for the very first time but it seemed to be a Apple meltdown. I was not able to rent movies on Apple TV, access my account or any account from my macbook and are getting a credit card declined message on my wifes macbook.
The more I looked into the issue the more problems i found.
AppleTV:
1. couldnt access itunes store at all. Tried 3 accounts and did work. Reset to factory settings (lost all my movies!!) then it worked but only with my wifes account. When i wanted to rent a movie an error message came up (Verification required) did this on her account but all of a sudden the credit card was not accepted any longer. Tried 4 credit cards but none was accepted. Switched to redeem gift card and i finally was able to rent a movie. Problem not resolved as i still cant access my account or use a working credit card on my wifes account
2. Error -9813: i triple checked date&time; ran keychain first aid and repair; replaced the X509anchors and certificates with those from another Macbook with the same operating system and with access to itunes store; finally reinstalled through archieve and install my operating system and updated to the latest versions - NO SUCCESS.
3. Cannot access my account even from my wife's macbook even though i can log on to her account. From my macbook no account is accessible.

i am frustrated and it seems a clear that this is an issue on apple's end especially cause so many people started to encounter the issue yesterday. I will write support and ask eerybody to do the same.
