After install of iLife 11 encountered Connection Failed error

After I installed iLife 11 today I received the message from iMovie: Updating iPhoto video events. I then received the following error: Connection failed, the server "stevedell" may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. the server "stevedell" has not existed for two years. It was replaced by another server with a different name. I am now encountering the same problem with iPhoto. I am not able to use the software as I cannot do anything until the server is found. How do I eliminate "stevedell' from the list of servers iLife is looking for?

mac pro book, Mac OS X (10.6.4), iLife 11

I'm having a similar issue, just with an IP address. Slight chance it may be a NAS drive that I connected to in the past.

I am able to dismiss the message and do work in iMovie, but it pops up regularly and is quite annoying.

I cannot dismiss my message. I am sure it is associated with an old PC with a network drive. The software should give you an opportunity to dismiss the associated file and move on but it does not. I would hate to rebuild all of my slide shows and movies in iLife 11.

Exact same issue here. iMovie 11 looking to connect a different server. No problem with iMovie 09, just started after install of iMovie 11. Help, would like to use iMovie, but won't open or close. Have to force quit program.

same issues exactly - for some reason every 20 seconds or so it pops up with connection lost - looking for my old Mac book - if I power it up the message disappears - can't find where it's looking for the old Mac but ONLY in iMovie since moving to iLife 11 - any suggestions (apart from keeping all of my old machines running!)?

Try moving the following file to the desktop then relaunching the program to recreate the file: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iApps.plist

That is what fixed it for me. I had issues with iWeb doing the same thing. If that fixes it for you, you can delete the file you moved to the desktop.

Are you looking in your user's library?

Easy way to get there, from Finder, select Go to Folder from the Go menu (or press command shiftg and then copy and paste ~/library/preferences then click okay. It will be there if you have ever launched an ilife app.

Noooo - the error is back and this time I can't get rid of it - it appears whenever I launch ANY of the iLife 10 progs... Any more ideas before I throw the whole new macbook pro out of the window - ALL of the iLife progs are unusable!
