After install of iLife 11 encountered Connection Failed error

After I installed iLife 11 today I received the message from iMovie: Updating iPhoto video events. I then received the following error: Connection failed, the server "stevedell" may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. the server "stevedell" has not existed for two years. It was replaced by another server with a different name. I am now encountering the same problem with iPhoto. I am not able to use the software as I cannot do anything until the server is found. How do I eliminate "stevedell' from the list of servers iLife is looking for?

mac pro book, Mac OS X (10.6.4), iLife 11

I went through this problem as well, but I was really stubborn and stingy.

Basically, if you want to isolate the specfic images in your iPhoto library that are corrupt or,

if you don't have the hard drive space for iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild your library or,

if you don't want to spend $20 on a program or use a trial version,

there's a simple, though slighly tedious way of finding the broken images in your library. Basically, you highlight a bunch of photos, and try to drag them to a random album. If your mouse cursor doesn't make it there before your computer gets the beachball of doom, or pops up an error, then one of the images in your selection is bad.

I detailed my woeful fix here: http://www.winstonmoy.com/2012/05/imovie-troubleshooting-connection-failed-serve r-does-not-exist-fix/

If the majority of your library is in good shape, then this method should work quickly, as you can use process of elimination to verify hundreds, of not thousands of images at once.
