email photos from iPhoto via Outlook 2011 rather then mail?

Is it possible for iPhoto to automatically open and insert photos using Outlook rather then mail?

So is anyone experiencing the same issue here? When I send out an invite to view my "MobileMe" gallery people using Outlook (On PC) can't see it. All they get is a light gray link to the page. The key photo picture and supplement text is completely vacant. I sent it to myself and on Outlook for PC that's what I see. If i pull it up on Outlook 11 on Mac it looks fine. If i log into my WebAccess it looks fine too. For some reason the way it sends out the invite it's not read by PC Outlook. Hopefully Apple can address this issue... Is anyone else having this issue?

I was also looking for this answer. I tried dragging pictures into Outlook but the pictures were HUGE. What I ended up doing was opening up Mac Mail and setting up my work e-mail through their (since we use Exchange server 2010). Then I was able to create a new message and use the Photo Browser option at the top of the message to insert the pictures and optimize them for email.

Alternatively I tried to email them from iPhoto to my work account but it does not show up as an option for some reason. Oh well, the above method worked for me.

In reply to Terence Devlin's post of October 2010, I found a way to scale photos prior to the email attachments opening up in Outlook new message. Using your suggested method of creating a service in Automator there is an extra option under "Photos" for "Scale Images" and if you drag that immediately below the "Get Selected iPhoto Photos" there is a prompt to ask whether you want to add an extra step to copy the scaled photos (otherwise iPhoto will overwrite the existing photos with the scaled size versions). Select "Add" then choose the location where you want the scaled photos to be saved (you can always trash them later if you don't want them). In the Scale Images window select the No. pixels or as I preferred the % of photo size. Then in this way if you have an average digital photo size direct from camera (say around 4 to 6 MB) by selecting 30% the photo was reduced to around 300kb. You can play around with the % scale to achieve sizes more like thumbnails if you prefer. Then by adding the rest of your method (but adapting it for Outlook use) it works fine. I actually created a few different service names showing different scale percentages so I can have whatever option I want when emailing from iPhoto.

Thanks for your post as this definitely steered me on a good path.

This worked for iPhoto 11 and Outlook for Mac 2011

Yes. Detailed instructions can be found here. So easy a monkey could do it. When looking for the three files; look carefully they're hard to spot and Finder won't locate them.

PS: I've looked for this info twice (both for Macbooks, old and now new with iPhoto still not configured properly) so I thought I'd add it here because it took me a while to find this the second time (I now have it in my 'fix' files).
