I think the option of having various virtual keyboard is fantastic, so I agree with TVmaster completely. But I found in the world of Apple, the company constantly thinks it knows what's best for EVERYBODY, so it consistently shoves only one solution down our throats. And too many of the Apple minions, as shown here in the replies, simply cop an attitude of arrogant distain for everyone and anything that doesn't pay homage to Apple and its narrow-minded solutions. Which is precisely why we have this keyboard issue problem. It's also why… (1) Apple has such a small share of the market compared to PCs… (2) it almost went out of business in the late 1990s and had to be saved by Microsoft… (3) its products are best suited for children, artists and the simpleminded. For serious work, it's methods and processes are just too cumbersome and restrictive.
For TVmaster, you and I are not alone. The prestigious CNET says this about the iPad keyboard… "The default keyboard on the iPhone or iPad leaves much to be desired. Without arrow keys; symbols one, two, and even sometimes three menus deep, and complicated multi-touch commands to access copy-and-paste menus, it is not ideal if you plan on doing a lot of composition on the touch screen. There are many solutions, but Arrow Note offers one of the better compilations of keyboard modifications for writing on your phone or tablet." You can read the article yourself here… http://download.cnet.com/Arrow-Note-Text-Editor-with-Arrow-Keys/3000-2124_4-7564 2465.html
And you can get the arrow note app from the iPad app store. It's pretty cool, and something that Apple should've done in the first place.
