iTunes Store down today for everyone?

I cannot purchase or rent anything from the iTunes store due to a "network connection" issue. I called the my support rep who actually had the same issue, and suggested asking in this forum. Is the iTunes Store capacity down? When will it be back up? Can I do anything to fix it on my end?

I went to check to see if the new Murray Gold was available for download yet, and just got the error message "We could not complete your iTunes store request. The iTunes store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later."

I don't want to update just because of the store, iTunes works just fine for playing music at the moment and updating my iPod, but this is really disappointing. The error message reads like it's planned, but there's no announcement about it at all anywhere.

until one is actually in this kind of situation, it looks kinda crazy from the outside. i mean, if you haven't been locked out of something you have supported with time and money, it just looks like people moaning. but it's not, it's a problem. and it's not being acknowledged - so in the meantime i'll look elsewhere and probably find better mp3 stores.

i suppose when you're number one, you don't care about number 2 and downwards...
sad really.
you'd hope apple would care more.

how many of you reading this are NOT on itunes 9 or 10?
i'm on itunes8.

For me, my problem is that I cannot get to the update page at all to choose update all or update each app individually. On the other hand, I can access the store and purchase/download new apps just fine.

After clicking 'check for updates' on my pc, I will either get 'We could not complete your itunes store request. The itunes store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later' or 'We could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct and try again'.

I have run diagnostics and everything is fine with my network. The funny thing is that I can update apps on my idevice just fine but with over 2000 apps, I am hard pressed to do so that way. This has been bothering me for more than a week now and Apple support is not helping. They are just going through the motions resetting account blah blah blah. Useless! And they keep bumping me up the chain of support and I have to keep repeating my problem. <irritated>

This is my problem too. I can't get updates or download new apps.

I've tried on different platforms, all with the current iphone OS and iTunes releases. Even tried reinstalling iTunes on the Windows box. No luck

Can't download new apps from the iPhone, either. Always get the same error message that everyone else is getting, and to try again later. This has been happening since at least 3:30am 8 November 2010 until 11:30pm 8 Novemeber 2010 Pacific Standard Time (not Daylight).

Getting this same exact message for the same reason, trying to download updates to my apps. I now have 189 updates to my 1300 apps and can't download them on my computer. I two different macs, both with the latest OS X 10.6.4 and iTunes 10.0.1 and no luck on either one, at work or at home. Is there some sort of unwritten limit to how many apps you can have or that iTunes can handle updating at any given moment? I tried resetting my keychain and thought that worked, as it looked like the apps would update but then it said the info was out of date, so I tried again after that and it went back to saying this again.
