Problem Importing CD to iTunes

Just updated to latest version of iTunes. Trying to import an audio cd to iTunes. iTunes will read the cd, and I can see the album & artist name under 'Devices' on the left side of the iTunes. iTunes will actually play the cd, but when I click 'Import CD', I immediately receive a message box that says "iTunes has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." And then iTunes shuts down.

I'm slightly techno-tarded, and can't seem to figure out how to fix this so that I can import the cd to my iTunes. Can anyone help?

Well having done a lot of research I found that I was able to restore the previous version of CoreAudioToolbox.dll to version 7.9.3 by right clicking the 7.9.3 version of the dll (in my C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder) and selecting Properties then Previous Versions. It appeared in the File Versions list and I was able to copy it to my desktop. I renamed the newer version CoreAudioToolbox.old and pasted the older version into the folder. Reset the option in iTunes back to AAC and the import CDs now works perfectly.

Thanks to the help from others in this forum for the 'repair' information.
