Can't pair iPhone via Bluetooth

Hey Guys,

I have a new 11" Air which is incredible but for the life of me I can't get Bluetooth pairing to work with my iPhone 4 so I can tether.

It pairs the device in System Preferences but I try to connect them I get to errors.

If I connect from the MBA I get an out of range error and If I connect it from the iPhone I get a message saying that the device is not supported - and it prompts me to remove the device from the Phone?

Both devices are up-to-date and I have bluetooth working with the iPhone and my MBP.

Tried resetting PRAM but still no luck.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem; I can't pair my iPhone 5 (iOS 7) and iMac (Mavericks) via Bluetooth. Just after a sec when iMac finds iPhone and shows "connected" it changes to " not connected". It says make sure network access is enabled, but there is no setting to change network access for Blouetooth.

My purpose for making pair is using iPhone as remote for Keynote. I do not need internet sharing. Do u have any solution?

I had the same issue trying to bluetooth pair Ipad Air with Iphone 4S.... I tried everything to get the two units to pair together as they wouldnt even see each other and they were both sitting along side each other. Then I thought because the Ipad air was straight out of the box I have to set the Ipad air up using Itunes etc but even setting it up on that still didnt work. My last crack of the whip I thought I would try from a different angle and I found that I had to do the following to get the pair

Put both devices in airplane mode

turn on bluetooth on both devices

turn on personal hotspot on the Iphone 4S

turn off airplane mode on the Iphone 4S

Turn off the Wifi on the Iphone 4S

as soon as I did that the ipad air straight away saw the Iphone and commenced pairing and then the Iphone saw the Ipad and the 2 were then paired...

Both now see each other when bluetooth is turned On and Off

I hope that helps others
