PowerPoint 2010 keeps crashing

same exact issue - tried repairing office 2010 - uninstall powerpoint ... wasting too much time - you can delete drawings but any text edits

I uninstalled bootcamp 3.2 and powerpoint x64 2010 is now working - did not consider bootcamp as the issue - I gather it is related to the keyboard manager (apple).

I had the exact same problem yesterday...very annoying.

What is the best way to uninstall 3.2 and go back to 3.1?

I had an earlier restore point and just reverted back to that. That fixed everything. Now, will just have to wait until this problem is addressed since I can't go on not using PowerPoint.

I have the same exact problem - powerpoint 2010 crashes on editing any text on existing doc - was working fine till I installed latest version of bootcamp. problem did not go away on reinstaling or repairing office 2010, or on uninstalling bootcamp upgrade. it may be some other drivers that came with the latest bootcamp upgrade. please help - I need powerpoint to work.

I did the same think by uninstalling bootcamp 3.2 to solve the PowerPoint crashing issue (which did get resolved), but now how do I install bootcamp 3.1 on windows to get back the other functionality like trackpad ease, etc. Any ideas on what next?

Having spent 8 hours on this problem yesterday, I now know about all the options, but not resolved core issue yet. Here are the details:
(1) When you install bootcamp 3.2 with automatic upgrade, it installs some drivers and one of those drivers makes your keyboard text characters incompatible with Powerpoint 2010, so any text changes causes powerpoint to crash.
(2) Your best defense would have been a savepoint before installing the upgrade, but if you dont have that, then it is not easy to rollback.
(3) One option is to uninstall bootcamp 3.2 from windows - that resolves the core issue, but also removes the other bootcamp drivers so your track pad becomes less responsive, etc.
(4) You can install bootcamp 3.1 again - the 64 bit version is available on your Mac OS X DVD that came with your laptop, and it is a pretty easy re-install.
(5) However if you reinstall the 3.1 from the DVD, then the powerpoint problem returns again. At that point, you might as well get the bootcamp 3.2 upgrade installed again, as your core problem remains either way.
(6) The real solution is to identify the specific driver that is giving that problem, and I have narrowed it down to one out of 4. I could do trial and error method to find the specific driver, but I made an appointment with the genius bar to take my macbook ino the store and have them figure this out.
(7) In the meantime, I also decided to bite the bullet and buy Office for Mac 2011 for $199 (I will get it at the store today), and that will take away some of the need to use Office on Windows 7 as I can then use the Office on Mac - I heard the 2011 version is very compatible to the latest office for windows version, so that should resolve some of the hassles.

Same problem. Extremely annoying and preventing me from doing my job. This is very disappointing from Apple. Monty please let us know if you narrow it down to a specific driver. I don't want to roll-back to BC3.2 since I am reading that it may not fix the issue - and frankly it's a hassle.

I have fixed the issue on mine and it was fairly painless (considering I couldn't use PPT!)

I uninstalled Bootcamp from Windows
Inserted my OSX disc
Installed Bootcamp fresh from Setup file
Restarted Windows in Bootcamp and it all works

It installs Bootcamp 3.0 but, my cinema display, keyboard, trackpad, everything seems to work fine for right now so, I am sticking with 3.0 until Apple fixes it as I need PPT everyday.
