Airplay and videos in camera roll and photos app

Does anyone know if airplay allows you to push videos shot with the iPhone that are currently in the camera roll, or videos synced from iPhoto that are in different albums on the photos aPP?

Just installed and tested the updates for the iPhone 4 and ATV.

When airplaying videos from the iPhone 4 to ATV, all videos in the iPod App, videos section, can be airplayed with no problem. However, for videos in the "photos" app (ie: videos you've recently taken with your iPhone camera), there is simply no airplay button. The still photos have an airplay button, and can be airplayed to your ATV with no problem. But the videos cannot. This is odd and disappointing for me, because this was the feature I was most excited about: Taking a video of my 7-month-old son with my iPhone 4 at one point during the day, then airplaying it to the ATV to show my wife and others later in the day, without having to bother to synch my iphone to my computer, put the video into iTunes, and navigate to it on the ATV.

Wow, that just seems stupid. Yay! I can play videos synced to my iPad using airplay to an apple tv. That's so cool, except for the fact that every movie that can be synced to my iPad is already on the computer that is connected to the apple tv, which kind of makes airplay to apple tv pointless. Was so hoping that you could shoot a video with the iPhone, then instantly stream it to the TV without syncing or connecting wires.

This is HUGELY disappointing! I bought an Apple TV for my parents and myself specifically for the purpose of viewing home videos on the big TV screen. What is the point of allowing photos to airplay but not videos?!?

This is embarrassing for me as I am a big Apple proponent and have been telling friends and family to buy the Apple TV for this purpose. Now I have to tell them this feature was cleverly alluded to in advertising, but not delivered with no explanation.

SO, SO, SO, disappointed especially after the long wait for this feature!!!!

Come on Apple, I expected more!!!!

I am on hold with Apple Techical support to ask about this issue now, to see if there is a workaround, or if it was intentionally left out. I will post updates later but wouldn't hold my breath. The technician actually asked me what airplay was, if it was an app I had downloaded from the AppStore.

it's unlikely the apple rep will know anything specific.

No joke he didn't know anything specific. His advice was for me to remove the Airplay application from my iPhone, and then try to redownload it, even after I told him it wasn't an app that it was built into the new iOS.

the support guys are just that, and will only have knowledge of what their support script says.
the "engineers" as apple call them are not on the phones.

Just went through :30 working through this same issue.

One third party website suggested the using the app switcher technique - and, you can get to an Apple TV button by double swiping left twice. But - despite switching to "Apple TV" from there, the video does not transfer to Apple TV.

It would be very disappointing - and bizarre - if this functionality was intentionally left out.
