Upgrade to iOS 4.2 1013 error

Upgrading to iOS 4.2 but keeping getting unknown error 1013. This then takes the phone into Recovery Mode needing a Restore and Update. Have tried this a number of time (and followed the support page from Apple) but to no avail. Anyone else managed to resolve this?

iPhone 3GS, iOS 4

Ill give the instructions just in case you dont like twitter...

1. connect the phone and begin the update/restore.
2. As soon as the first progress bar completes remove this line from /etc/hosts

74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

Thats it, your phone will restore and you frustration will disappear.
