WiFi/Internet Incredibly slow after iOS 4.2 Upgrade

My wifi is incredibly slow after I upgraded two of the three iPads in my home to iOS 4.2. The other iPad that has not been upgraded works fine. In a side by side test loading the same web page, the iOS 4.2 iPad takes 5x as long. Any ideas on why this would happen?

Sorry to ask again, but I haven't seen it clearly stated.

+Has anyone restored (not rebooted, but wiped the iPad clean) their iPad to the latest version?+

It is more helpful to write down which fix you tried that didn't work than to just say "fix didn't work". There are multiple "fixes" suggested so far.

So far we have
- Reboot iPad
- Reset network settings
- Power cycle router
- Restore the iPad (wipe clean) and load new iOS
- Revert to 3.2.2 😉

I've tried all fixes except for the wipe clean and revert because I was having the same problem before updating as I am having now. My iPad works fine an almost all environments except where I work. The only thing I cannot rule out is interference from somewhere as this is a large facility and even God problem doesn't know what it is, if she'd actually care. If she knows, she has not sent me an e-mail. So I am stuck with you all and Apple.

I am presently on my work network, but will not be for long unless something has changed.

My wifi is now unacceptably slow after the 4.2 update. I tried to revert to 3.2.2 by finding a copy of 3.2.2 (a quick Google search) but although the wifi was back to its normal self quite a lot else was buggered so I am back to 4.2 waiting for an update.
Shame really as 3.2.2 was perfect for me with the screen lock switch.

I've tried a full reboot, restarting router (though since it's happening at home and work, I didn't expect any luck there) and setting up WiFi again.

Haven't done a full restore or gone back to 3.2, but I'd be pretty sure reverting to 3.2 would work, and a restore wouldn't.

It's almost certainly a software issue, but it might only occur for certain hardware and/or WiFi setups/routers/range/etc., and I suspect the people that are having the issue will continue to have it until there's a fix, and those that don't, won't.

Maybe we should start trending which models of iPad are still having issues after executing the fix actions identified in this thread. I have the WiFi+3G model running 4.2 OS and after network reset and power cycle both my 3G and WiFi run like a champ. Is the majority of users still having issues after proposed fixes primarily 3G or WiFi only model iPads?

Your lock screen is now on the multi tasking bar, slide it to the left and you will see it. You can also adjust the sceen brightness there.
I have a problem with my wi-fi now also it has drastically slowed down. It will be interesting to see if apple make any response to this. If enough people flood the message boards then they will respond like last time it happened.

You don't know that until you've tried it. It's up to you, since it's your system, but a full restore is a well-documented method of fixing a wide range of issues. This isn't aimed at you, so please don't think I'm having a go - it's a general observation - I'm always a bit surprised by how many people go for a downgrade before trying a ful restore. I can see that there's the confidence of using a version that worked before, but downgrading forces a full restore anyway

I have the same issue. Tried resetting network settings, power cycled linksys router and cable modem. No change. My main problem seems to be with streaming media like inTune Radio. Even though my speedtest app says I have between 18 and 22 Mbps, my radio app ( which was fine with 3.22) constantly cuts out and has to rebuffer. The crazy thing is that on a 3G connection it is fine and I get no interruptions! So it is definitely a wifi issue. My laptop has no problems streaming on the same wifi router. So it is definitely an iPad wifi issue. And it only started after the 4.2 (which I now refer to as "4.poo") so-called "upgrade".

PLEASE fix this, Apple. Not in 3 months. Now.

Sorry, meant TuneIn Radio. And no I haven't tried a full restore. Has anyone had any success with that?
