Mail won't rotate when I turn iPad sideways

Ever sense I downloaded new OS I can't get my mail to rotate wheni rotate my iPad. Very frustrating because now I must go through each one where before I could see all of them

The iPad User Guide is bookmarked in Safari. It's a hierarchical document and is quite easy to use to find information of this sort.

The information requested in this thread is in the "Tips and Troubleshooting" section.

A free iBooks version is also available in the iBooks store.

Don't be too quick to judge. Also, don't be too quick to bin those pieces of paper that came in the box which, among other useful bits of information, let you know how to get a copy of the User Guide.

Or, in your brand-new machine, sitting there parked in Safari Bookmarks, you find the web version of the User Guide.

In either of those you find the following text:

+View the guide on iPad: In Safari, tap , then tap the iPad User Guide bookmark.+

And finally, don't assume that just because you never found or bothered to look for it that no one else has either.

Well, there's the one that's included as a Safari bookmark on every iPad and there's the one available at no charge from iBooks and there's the one here:

The power down solution worked great. Thanks for the help!

And just just because the manual may say how to power down or force quit an app, that would certainly not have helped me use it to solve this problem.

If you hit the home button & power off button at the same time to completely power off, this will fix the problem. I was having the same issue, and this solves it!

Great, worked for me too.

Note: After holding the power button to force power off, you must hold the power button to power back on.

thanks, that worked. I don't have a users guide (my daughter gave me her iPad 2 when she bought the new one last week.) guess I can download it to my pc. I usually do that for all my UGs. Much easier than keeping track of the paper one!

You do have a user guide on the iPad. There is one in the Safari Bookmarks. You can download the pdf user guied to the iPad as well and you can download the iBooks version of the user guide.

This has been explained twice in this discussion already - I'm not trying to be a jerk - but you have to pay attention to the instructions in the various posts.

Anybody know why this cotinues to happen? Does not happen on my iPad, but does with my hubbies, and a restart fixes it but it's annoying when it happens almost every day. It was happening on his iPad 2, when he got his new iPad, he set it up as new trying to get rid of this. Still happens to him.
