Mail won't rotate when I turn iPad sideways

Ever sense I downloaded new OS I can't get my mail to rotate wheni rotate my iPad. Very frustrating because now I must go through each one where before I could see all of them

The solutions given are only temporary for me. After a while (several days) it locks itself again.

Lock rotation is off and other apps work as advertised.

Had the Mail designers been out to lunch and had a few too many when they wrote this part of the app?
