Default AirPlay Setting in iTunes (mine is not iTunes)

Whenever I play a movie in iTunes on my MacPro it sends the audio to my 2010 AppleTV which abruptly interrupts whatever is playing on the ATV. Is there a way to make the "Computer" on which iTunes is running the default audio device?

I'm having this issue too, I wanted to watch some video podcasts on my ATV through AirPlay which worked great, but now every time I play a podcast it defaults to the ATV automatically and I have to keep telling it to play through my computer instead. I can't seem to find a setting to tell it to stop doing that, any help would be appreciated, thanks!

About three days ago, it started working correctly. I did not do anything that I can think of to correct it. I didn't update anything. I didn't switch off and on homesharing or airplay. It makes no sense. It could of just been something that fixed itself from multiple restarts or airplay could of switch itself off/on. If I figure it out I'll update

Hi there,

I had the same problem few minutes ago (iTunes v10.2.2. (12) ). I've fixed it as follows

- power-off ATV (full power off, "cut" power connection)

- start a Video in iTunes

- iTunes notified that ATV is not available and asks if you want to use the computer insteat. Choose "Computer"! 😉

- Play some videos (they all should be played on your computer now)

- Power-on ATV again

For me this resolves that issue! 😀

Best regards,

Stefan
