iPad won't sync photos

Perfect answer. Drag to desktop, reloaded and done. You can delete the photos after you reload in to iphoto which saves them in a new folder.

These are user-to-user forums, they are not monitored by Apple (there are too many forums/threads/posts for that to happen). You are probably better off starting your own thread which is more likely to be noticed by other users, and is therefore more likely to be responded to, rather than adding replies to other threads - other people who sync photos via iPhoto may be able to help (I sync mine via a PC so I won't be of much help)

For those of us Carolyn's suggestion did not work - Here is why: There could be more than one "Photo Cache Library" - So try doing an explorer search on "Photo Cache Library" and delete them all - reboot your iPad and try again. It takes a long time to "optimize" pictures but it worked for me!

I was all over the internet trying to find a solution to my inability to sync all of my photos to my iPad from my Aperture 3 program in my iMac, and was about to give up when I found your answer. For all those who still have problems, here's what worked for me after spending hours investigating.

Note - this fix may only work on Macs (not sure).

There is a *hidden* "iPod Photo Cache" folder which can not be found by simply searching your mac as it is embedded in a compressed package. If you locate the "iPhoto Library" file in the Pictures folder, right click on it and select "Show Package Contents". You should then see the contents of the iPhoto Library file, which will include an "iPod Photo Cache" folder. Delete this folder and re-sync.

Thank you DJ Pastey! Your tip is the first one to work on my system perfectly. With that folder hiden in the "package" no wonder why the other suggestions didn't work. Thank you so much.

One more thanks to the 'Carolyn' answer. There is obviously a bug there. Looking at the age of this thread, isn't it surprising Apple haven't fixed it yet?

I opened iPhoto and all the photos are blacked out! When I click on them, I get an exclamation point.

I am restoring now from backup. I have deleted 3 iPhoto caches and my pictures never showed up in iPhoto. I think it happened when I deleted the cache. Why won't it build a new one? I'm so upset. 19.000 photos are not showing up, just the dashes around where the thumbnail is and when you click on it, an exclamation point. This is a mess! Please help!
