Applications not showing up in System Profiler?

Anyone know why? All it says is "no information found" and hitting "refresh" makes no difference.

Could it be somehow it uses spotlight to find the applications?

It shows up the same blank page whether I boot into 64 or 32 bit.

Thanks!

I have the same "no information found". Seems to have started when I upgraded from 10.5 to 10.6, circa August 2010. Same problem with a fresh install of 10.6.3 and a migration of apps and users. No issues with permissions. No problem with a fresh install of 10.6.3 and updates to 10.6.5 in another internal partition. Seems like some customization is silently blocking System Profiler's search for Apps. My Mac Pro customizations are modest, and not a problem on my iMac 27". Same silent failure using system_profiler in Terminal on the Mac Pro. I called it in to AppleCare, who passed it on to the software engineers for the Xmas holidays.
