Podcasts on iPhone but don't display

I've got an iPhone 3G running iOS 4.2.1 and use iTunes 10.1.0.54. There's one particular podcast (the Clark Howard show) that I subscribe to that downloads and syncs to my iPhone, but it doesn't show up under the Podcasts section of the iPod part of the iPhone. Other podcasts show up on the phone and play normally. Here's the weird part: In iTunes, when my phone is connected, it shows the "missing" podcast under the Podcasts section beneath my phone. I can navigate to it in iTunes and even play the Podcast via iTunes from the file that is on my phone. But, I can't play the file when the phone is disconnected from iTunes.

I've unsubscribed and deleted the podcast from iTunes, synced so that it would be removed from the phone, and then re-subscribed & synced again. I get the same behavior. Can anyone help?

I had exactly this same problem -- podcasts would sync, I could see them on ipod thru itunes and if i searched for them on my ipod, i could see them but they wouldn't play and wouldn't show up in the podcast list. But it was only those podcasts that were labeled "clean". Bummer. I solved it by turning on "explicit" under the restrictions settings on my ipod touch (2nd gen). No I can play "clean" podcasts!! Yea!

Hi guys,

I had the same problem, and it drove me crazy! Then when one of the guys notice that all the podcast shows only on the search... I did that and yap it works, and found out that my podcast are not under the ipod or Music anymore it's under the Videos app! and that explain why only audio podcast were showing!

I hope that will help

Hey guys - here's one more thing to try. If you have a security profile installed on your iPhone from your employer, it may be restricting explicit content. All podcasts, songs, movies, etc marked explicit will appear to sync from iTunes, but will NOT show up on the device. You can check by going into settings, general and scroll down to the bottom.

I had a test profile installed from an employer and it was blocking all explicit podcasts. I removed the profile and everything worked again.

Hope this helps somebody.
