LOL I realize that, however, I am not an idiot, and I believe the fact that MacBook Air is written on the front of it is enough proof that it is in fact a MacBook Air. I too was surprised that it was possible, as I too knew that it was soldered onto the logic board. I was however one of the ones who watched the keynote live, saved up for it, and bought it for $1049 CAD. I have done my research and I am positive, as dumb as it may sound that I have a MacBook Air whose RAM was upgraded from 2GB to 4GB AFTER PURCHASE.

They only gave you 4 GB? They put 8 GB in mine and a 1 TB SSD along with 2.3 Ghz Sandy Bridge processor and Thunderbolt port for the same price............ makes my lunch and flies my Lear Jet..... my plastic model with a gas engine one mind you 🙂

+*I got it back with 4GB of RAM installed, along with my original 2GB stick in a plastic bag.*+

So... they did the upgrade for you... from 2 ---> 4GB for the same price as if you had originally purchased the upgrade "and" they gave you the original 2GB back as well? So you made out better than if you had bought it with 4GB to start with... you ended up with an extra 2GB module. That's a great deal.

Ahahaha luuckkkyy jks jks, but actually, do you have an RC LearJet that you control with the MacBook? or is it just BS like the rest of the post?

Here is how they did it..... They had to solder double the chips, so now I have a bulge in the middle. Look at steps 13 and 15 to see the memory "stick" they gave back to me...

As to the Learjet, I use a Firewire 800 joystick and plug it into the additional port they added.

I call BS. For you to have upgraded the memory at a reseller would have required a new Mainboard, at a minimum. If your story is even partly true, they swapped for another computer.

Post a picture of the "leftover" stick, please.

JoeyR, didn't think that one through, did you? the price of the 2GB was not free, it was combined in with the price, as well as the 4GB extra for $100 bucks.

As for the rest of you, dont believe me? Go to your Apple Store to find out. If you're too lazy to do that, then go ahead, call BS in me, but I'm not willing to continue this crap.
