Printing Coupon from Coupons.com and Bricks
Mac OS X (10.6.5)

Sean,
That .cid file was not in mine.
Guy named Rich logged in to my computer.
At the time I didn't have coupon printer installed.
He installed, put that file in the folder, quit and restarted Safari... and it worked.
Said it was a known issue as I described... and they're working on a permanent fix.
Let me know. I'll see if I can get him to Ok me posting his direct number.

BTW... I actually had 2 problems.
1) Couldn't print to my new all in one Lexmark
2) Couldn't print at all after I installed that new Apple Security Update 2011-002
He did the above and got the coupons to print, which fixed the problem of NOT BEING ABLE TO PRINT AT ALL caused by the security update.
Then he had me check whether the new Lexmark (on a network - ethernet wired) had a fixed IP address or not.
I logged into the printer and went to:
Configurations > TCP IP > then clicked on a link that said "Set static IP address"
I can print to the All in one printer now.

David,
Strange. As I still can't get pass the "install coupon driver" page on the coupons.com site. Regardless of what I do it always asks to install it (even if I already installed). I tried all three browsers as well as changing them into 32 bit mode. Nothing seems to work. Wondering, have you installed all the latest apple updates? I have, and wondering if Apple has done something in a newer update to make the fix you did not work again. I have two printers. Both of static ips, so that's not the issue (unsure why dymanic ips would cause problems anyway).
All very strange. If anyone else is having issues with David's fix let me know...we can cross reference...and maybe figure out why it works on his but not ours.
Sean,
Frustrating I know.
I was printing fine until I did that security update, then I encountered the same problems as you're having. I know this because 2 of 3 macs running 10.6.7 did the update / quit working. The other with no update still worked fine.
Rich from coupons.com put that file in the folder and it worked. All 3 of my printers do coupons again.
I just put that file in my daughters MBP. That file was not there, and it had the problem. Now it works.
I don't think it matters whether Safari is in 32 bit mode. Hers is, mine isn't. Both work.
If coupons doesn't call you back, email me at my domain and I'll give you the number I have. You can leave a VM for the guy Rich I talked with.

Thanks David. Well, I give up for today 🙂 I'll call them tomorrow and try to get this Rich you spoke of....see if he can do his "magic" that he did for you for me. Though I really don't like having people remote desktop into my computers, I'm a security freak 😉 Thanks for you help. Let us know if the fix stops working.
@Sean Rich is the guy I was dealing with too. But I wasn't able to have him do the remote fix yet to mine.
@David Thanks for the link to the file! I already had the .cid file in the coupons folder (an md5 hash revealed it was identical to the one you posted).
Replacing the .cid file and restarting safari did nothing I am sad to report. Guess I will talk to Rich tomorrow and see what he says.
Guys,
First of all I'm pretty certain that the Apple Security Update 2011-002 is what's causing the problems.
Appears the fix I got from Coupons.com only works when trying to print smartsource and coupons.com coupons.
Still can't print from Red Plum or Bricks......
Likely use different Trust certificates or print modules / methods.
So try the fix above on the two sources that work and reply back.

Bummer. Talked to Rich neither starting FF in 32-bit mode or replacing the .cid file helped. He said it only works for some people. He said this is Coupons Inc top priority and they plan to have it fixed in 1-2 weeks
One computer worked, the other didn't. I copied the entire Coupons Folder on the working computer over to the appropriate location on the non-working computer and it worked.
1. Download: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24221765/Coupons.zip
2. Unzip
3. Copy entire folder over to: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support
4. If the folder is there, just copy over it.
I just did this on my MacBook Pro and my MacPro dual Quad Core running 10.6.7 and it worked flawlessly on both.
Let us know if this worked!
@JeridHill
What a great idea! My only concern is that the files you shared might be linked to your coupon id. That is to say if someone else prints a coupon will it count like it was printed on all your computers? One way to check is to see if the printed numbers in small type around the border of coupons is the same on both your macbook pro and your mac pro. Will try this when I get home!
I noticed the very small code is the same, but it does generate a different code in the upper right corner of the coupon. I've seen people use multiple computers to print out this coupon. I believe it's attributed to the computer you are using. Either way, it is a way to get the printer to work until they have a fix. If it's not the case, then I'll pull the folder.
It worked. Both bricks and the main coupons site. At first I was disappointed because replacing the coupon folder with Jerid's didn't fix it, but then on a whim I set FF to start in 32-bit mode and it worked. To clarify it still doesn't work in Safari and only works in FF set in 32-bit mode but that'll get me through for the next few weeks until they actually fix it. THANKS especially to JeridHill and David Stamm.
Thanks JeridHill! I can also now print all three using 32-bit Firefox....though with one big limition = looks like we are all using the same id at coupons.com...hence, when the limit is reached for one of us...it is for all 🙂 So, until Coupons.com gets there act together we'll be fighting over who gets to the good coupons first!! 🙂 Of course, this is so much better than no coupons at all. AGAIN, thanks all...as I've been waiting on a fix for months!
I have an HP Officejet 4500 printer. I can print from the coupon.com website with no problems but when I try to print anything from bricks.com it gives me this message "it appears that we don't support your printer or one of your printer settings". I'm running Mac OS X Version 10.6.7. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Hi,
Coupon guy called last week. Said they fixed issue. Un-install coupon printer software / download and install new one. Which I did in Safari... coupons.com would now print, but not Bricks.
So he had me install using Firefox... and Bricks will now print for me.
BTW... apparently the open browser at the time... gets the install plug-in. (or so he implied). Haven't verified this yet for myself. Always thought once downloaded it would work no matter what browser was in use.
ANYWAYS FIREFOX WORKS FOR NOW.

David Stamm
