Printing Coupon from Coupons.com and Bricks

Ok so all of a sudden this morning printing coupons at both of these websites did not work. Every-time I goto either website it says I have to install the coupon printer. I have downloaded this before because I was able to print coupons before today. I tried using firefox, safari, and google chrome none of them worked. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the coupon printer and no luck. Anyone ever have this problem before when it all of a sudden stopped working? If so any help is much appreciated and Happy Holidays!!!

One computer worked, the other didn't. I copied the entire Coupons Folder on the working computer over to the appropriate location on the non-working computer and it worked.

1. Download: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/24221765/Coupons.zip

2. Unzip

3. Copy entire folder over to: Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support

4. If the folder is there, just copy over it.

I just did this on my MacBook Pro and my MacPro dual Quad Core running 10.6.7 and it worked flawlessly on both.

Let us know if this worked!

Is there any was you can post this file again for download? I can't install the coupon printer at all and was hoping this would help. Thanks!

I ended up removing the file. Serpico mentioned the possibility of the code being linked to our account. After discussing it with coupons.com, they confirmed this would be the case and didn't recommend it.

Since then, coupons.com has fixed their printer, but it didn't work on Safari until the next day?? But it does work now in both Safari and FF. I tried it yesterday and FF worked but Safari didn't. I just tried it in Safari and now it works. Who knows, but it works, so it does appear the fix is there.

Yes, I actually got an email directly from coupons.com telling me about the new dmg driver available (just go to coupons.com with FF and it should prompt you to download the new dmg). I think they actually read the comments I auto-write into the forwarding page 😉 But, like you...only FF works now, not Safari nor Chrome (which I use mostly). Hopefully, they'll get around fixing the Safari and Chrome plugins. Btw, if you had FF in 32-bit...you can change it back...as it works in the original 64 bit. Also, the shared coupons.zip above does still work but as you mentioned...it's shared...and by the time I got there most of the good ones were already maxed out 😉

Ok, thanks all for pushing this to get a fix. cheers.

I have an iMac and two MacBook Pros and I still cannot get the print drivers to work on any of them. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver countless times on all mahcines via FireFox and Safari and it just doesn't work. Fortunately for me I run boot camp and have Window 7 installed on two machines and can still print from them. When is this going to be fixed!! My wife is driving me nuts..

If you are still having problems you should call coupons.com support (650) 605-4600 they need to know about your problem and can probably help you better. That said, they've acknowledged there are problems for *some* people using Safari and they are working on it. Chrome is completely unsupported, but everyone should be able to print using Firefox in 32-bit mode (see previous posts for instructions), even using latest udpates 10.6.7 with security update 2011-003.

I have had the exact problem as everyone above starting 3 days ago. I am freaking out because I am a personal shopper and people pay me to clip coupons and grocery shop for them. And since I can't print coupons, I can't work! I have version 10.5.8 and using safari 5.0.5. So am I understanding the conversation correctly: my computer has done an automatic update that coupons.com does not support? So the safari update is what is causing the problem?

Thank you!!

Another husband of a wife who coupons here, been in the doghouse since Snow Leopard and have never been able to successfully print from Snow Leopard (unlike Leopard, which I rolled the wife's machine back to), today I found something that seems to have fixed things for me, hopefully this will help some other people.

Using the latest install from coupons.com (from July 10, 2011 is the current date I did this but it looks like the install has been around for a while) - I made sure I had uninstalled previous coupons.com plugins first then, using Firefox 5 (64 bit) on the coupons.com site I installed the latest coupons.com installation. Everything looked fine but when I print it says it doesn't support my printer (or something along those lines) - this is on an Epson inkjet that prints just fine in Leopard (I have an image I can roll the machine back to and check it).

On a whim (I remember the Windows install only worked with the Default selected printer) I noticed that the Printer I use (Epson inkjet only one ever installed) didn't have any indication of being the default printer next to it in the System Preferences / Print & Fax section (even though it default prints to this only printer on my Mac for every application), so I left clicked the icon for the Printer to select it (left side of the Print & Fax page of the System Preferences application under "Printers"), then right clicked the icon (a menu pops up) and chose "Set As Default Printer" for Epson printer - a "Default" appeared next to its icon there. It prints now, in Firefox and Safari.

This seems to have been the problem for me, I can now successfully print from Coupons.com (and Redplum) in both latest Firefox 5 (64 bit) and Safari 5.05 (64 bit). For now this seems to work, for me.

How to verify this....I opened the System Preferences application (normally you can find that in your application tray at the bottom of the screen, looks like it has 3 silver gears in its icon(), but its also in the Applications folder). So Open System Preferences / click Print & Fax section / locate your printer in the left side under the "Printers" section, click it with the left mouse button once (so its highlighted) and then right click it (a small menu pops up, if this doesn't happen try pressing and holding the Alt button and clicking it then let go of both), after the popup menu appears left click the Set as Default Printer choice. Default is now indicated next to the Printer status on the left side of the Print & Fax section of the System Preferences application.

To verify you have no Coupons.com plug-ins currently installed (in Finder check your <hard drive name, whatever you named it here> / Library / Internet Plug-Ins / <here I had no CouponPrinter-Firefox v2.plugin nor a CouponPrinter-Safari.webplugin which indicates no plugins installed>. After installation both plugins exist in this Internet Plug-In folder now.

I'll update when I verify whether this works for one off manufacturer coupons served at the manufacturer site by Coupons.com (my always fail with snow leopard issue). Good luck everyone.

I have an iMac 2010, Macbook Pro 17" 2010, Macbook Pro 13" 2009 and a Macbook 13" 2007 all of which are running the save OS version 10.6.8 and 5.0.5 on Safari and I cannot print anything. My default settings are set properly for my printer but the software still can't find it. My wife is a harcore couponer and thankfully I am still able to print using Windows which I run from boot camp. My wife has not been able to print a coupon from her laptop in over a month now and this issue needs to be resolved by someone ASAP. Everything stopped working after the most recent OS update and nobody seems to give a crap about it.

Thanks

Just a follow up from my previous post. I tested with a Bricks coupon (that's the one off coupon from a manufacturers site where the coupon is supplied by bricks.coupons.com) and I was successful with Firefox 5 (64 bit), but not successful with Safari (64 bit) - so it looks like Firefox 5 is the best bet for bricks (for me at least).

It was the first coupon from this post that I tested this with:

Up until yesterday I could print from Safari and not Firefox. Today I printed no problem from coupons.com from Firefox and when I tried Safari it told me I had to change printer settings. I didn't. Clicked on print. It said it sent them to my printer, but nothing happened. I don't know if the difference is between the two updates. I guess I'll try it again. Haven't tried it with any other browsers, though I do have Chrome and Opera downloaded I don't use them much. I did have to redownload the printer again when Firefox was upgraded to 5.0. As long as it works with one of my browsers I guess I will be okay with it for now.

I just wanted everyone to know that during my phone call with the tech guy from coupons.com, he asked me if I copied my coupons. I told him I didn't but also print a lot for my neighbor (in which I don't know what she does with them, possibly she does) Well he stated that I was unable to print for 2 reasons, either a connection issue or coupons.com cut me off from printing coupons due to fraud. I have always been able to print for 2 years with NO problem. Then I started printing for my neighbor and with in 3 months I was cut off. So beware, if you are coping your coupons, this may be the problem and nothing will fix it.
